The SWE Counselor is the liaison between the Student Section and the Local Section & industry. They are to help the Student Section if a problem develops and work with the Student Section officers to help resolve the issue. The Counselor must be a SWE member in good standing, willing to do the job for the entire school year, and be enthusiastic about SWE.

Functions of the SWE Counselor :

• To serve as a source of information about SWE and its goals

• To act as a coach, role model, and source of moral support

• To help the Student Section in complying with both SWE and the school’s policies and procedures

• Participate in Student Section meetings and special events whenever possible

• To provide advice and suggestions on Student Section activities

• To review and sign the Annual and Financial Report for the Student Section

• To encourage the Student Section to apply for SWE awards

• To promote the benefits of SWE after graduation

• To encourage student attendance at Region Meetings, Region Conferences, and the National Conference
